This news originally broke via @PS5restocks_etcTwitter. The tip-off was then confirmed by reliable trackers, including Matt SwiderAnd Jake RandallGameStop had not confirmed that an in-store drop would be held at certain locations on Friday January 14.The GameStop website now contains a note announcing the availability of “PS5 Bundles in select stores on 01.14.21”. There’s also a handy store locator tool that tells you exactly where stock will be available tomorrow. Before you go, make sure to check if your local branch is participating.
This in-store restock will likely start from each individual store opening time (which could be as early as 8 a.m. local time) — but expect eager shoppers to start queuing for the console much earlier than this. If you want to be able to get a machine in this restock, you will need to make sure to grab some coffee before you go.
As is the case with GameStop PS5 Restocks, the console won’t be available in pre-built packages. These bundles will likely include PS5 gaming, extra controllers and digital credit. GameStop always charges the combined retail price of the items within its bundles, so you won’t be getting price gouged at least.
Although some GameStop in-store stock events have been open to all, this latest restocking event will only be available to PowerUp Reward Pro members. Sign up now to avoid disappointment. You will not be able to purchase a console if you aren’t a Pro member.
If your local GameStop isn’t participating in the in-store PS5 stock, or you prefer to purchase your console online for the most recent updates, make sure to visit our PS5 hub. We can’t guarantee you a machine, but it’ll help make the job of tracking down a next-gen console a little bit more manageable.
